Many people enjoy the rewards of donating their time and talents to worthwhile organizations in the Salem area. One popular site for volunteers is Salem Community Hospital.
At the Hospital, there are a number of opportunities for volunteers to brighten the days of those who are recovering from illnesses or injuries. If you are interested in sharing your time through the SCH Volunteer program, please follow these simple steps to join our wonderful staff of dedicated volunteers:
1. Make an appointment with the Volunteer Services Coordinator by calling (330) 332-7126. The Coordinator may be reached Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. If you would like to contact us through e-mail, e-mail us at info@salemhosp.com and provide your address and phone number. We will contact you within three working days.
2. Complete a Volunteer Services Application.
3. Complete a one-hour general orientation class and additional orientation in the department where you will volunteer.
4. Submit to a background check and a 2-step Mantoux test for tuberculosis.
5. Provide a signed affidavit from your personal physician stating that you are physically able to volunteer. |
