The Salem Community Hospital Infection Control department works with patients, employees and the public to decrease the risk of transmitting or sharing communicable diseases. One important method used to combat these risks is to make current information on various topics easily available. Information available from the Infection Control department includes: - signs and symptoms of infectious disease
- incubation times, or the time from infection until the disease actually appears
- communicability, or how long a disease can be transmitted or shared
- treatment information
- prevention methods, from handwashing to vaccines
The answers to questions on infectious diseases are not always simple, but the more you know, the better job you can do at preventing these illnesses. If you would like more information on communicable diseases, please call the Infection Control department at (330) 332-7100. Go Back To List |
