Rest is an important part of every patient's care. We realize, however, that visits from a limited number of family and friends during hospitalization helps to make the hospital stay a more pleasant experience. Unless a patient's physician recommends no visitors, or unless the patient prefers no visitors, the regularly scheduled visiting hours will be observed.
Visiting is limited to two persons at one time. Food and beverages should not be brought in for patients by visitors. Also, medications should not be brought in for patients, unless specifically requested by the physician or nurse.
Visits by Children
For the patients' protection as well as for the protection of the youngsters involved, children under fourteen years of age are not permitted to visit patients. However, there are special circumstances when children meeting specific criteria may be permitted to visit.
Children and grandchildren of the patient's immediate family, under fourteen years of age, may visit on Sundays and holidays during the hours of 12:30 - 1 p.m., on the Medical - Surgical areas and DCU only.
Sibling visitation on New Beginnings Family Care Center may be scheduled on an individual basis with the nursing staff.
Visiting Hours
Medical-Surgical
11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Maternity (New Beginnings Family Care Center)
The father or the mother's support person is permitted to visit during most hours of the day. General visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily.
Pediatrics
Parents and grandparents are allowed unlimited visitation. No other visitors are permitted.
DCU
11 a.m. - 1 p.m., and 5 - 8 p.m.
ICU
8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Visits to this area must be limited to 10 minutes.
