Physician Opportunities

The staff of Salem Community Hospital is pleased that you are interested in pursuing employment with the Hospital. Before applying, please read and consider the following statements regarding the Hospital's employment policy:

Equal Opportunity Employer

The Hospital is firmly committed to providing equal employment opportunity to all persons. Job applicants and employees shall not be discriminated against based on their race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap, ancestry or veteran status. The Hospital hires the best people it can find and bases its judgement on job-related qualifications, work experience and references.

At-Will Employment Policy

The Hospital is an at-will employer. If you are hired, you will be free to leave the Hospital's employment at any time for any reason. Correspondingly, while the Hospital hopes to have a long and productive work relationship with its associates, it reserves the right to separate an associate from its workforce without notice at any time.

Drug-Free Work Environment

Because of the Hospital's role as a healthcare provider, the Hospital places an extremely high priority on keeping its workplace totally free of all illegal drugs. Accordingly, the Hospital requires that all applicants, as a condition of employment, take and pass a screening test for illegal drugs. This test will be confidentially administered.

The Hospital will immediately terminate its consideration of any applicant who attempts to adulterate test results or who fails the test. The Hospital also reserves the right to test current employees for illegal drugs or alcohol if the Hospital finds reasonable cause to suspect substance abuse. A complete description of the Hospital's testing procedures can be found in the Hospital's "Substance Abuse Testing" policy and procedure, which is made available to all employees.

Smoke-Free Work Environment

Salem Community Hospital is committed to the long term health and safety of its employees. Accordingly, the Hospital is smoke-free and prohibits the use of all tobacco products. Applicants who smoke or use tobacco products will not be considered for employment; those hired after June 1, 1996 must remain non-users of tobacco products.
